Sit Happens

A 12-Week Movement Reset for Humans Who’ve Been Sitting Too Long

Let’s be honest, your team doesn’t need another talk about resilience. They need to stand up, stretch something other than their patience, and remember what breathing feels like.

Sit Happens is a practical, movement-based wellbeing reset for real workplaces, the kind where people live in inboxes, eat over keyboards, and count printer trips as cardio.

Over twelve weeks, I help your team undo the physical and mental mess that long days create. We move. We breathe. We laugh. People start feeling like themselves again, not another burnt-out job title.

What It’s For

Every office has the same problem: everyone’s seated, stressed, and slightly folded in half.
The tension builds, focus fades, and productivity turns into survival mode.

This program gives your team a full-body, full-mind reset. It helps them:

release neck, shoulder, and back tension

rebuild focus and steady energy

move better, think clearer, and work smarter

manage stress before it snowballs into burnout

It’s not yoga. Sit Happens isn’t wellness fluff. It’s human maintenance for the modern body.

Who It's For

Teams of up to 20 people (in person)

For people who spend more time in chairs than in daylight

Leaders who want measurable wellbeing, not buzzwords

Companies that know burnout doesn’t start in the head

This isn’t about transforming your team into athletes; it’s about restoring function, focus, and calm so they can actually enjoy the workday again.

How it works

Duration

12 weeks

Session length

60 minutes

Led by

Viki Thorbjorn - artist, movement teacher, and wellbeing specialist

Location

your office or workspace (within 15 miles of Nottingham; travel added beyond that)

All participants complete a short wellbeing form (PAR-Q) before starting, plus pre- and post-program surveys to measure focus, energy, and stress.

The 12-Week Flow

Each week adds another layer of strength, ease, and awareness through intelligent movement. This isn’t about intensity; it’s about showing up and feeling better each time.

Week Theme Focus & Feel
Reset
Meet your body again
A gentle but purposeful reset to help you arrive in your body, move your spine, and reconnect with what upright actually feels like in real workday conditions.
Unwind
Shoulders that work for real life
We take unnecessary effort out of the neck and shoulders so your arms can move, rest, and work without everything creeping upward.
Ground
Feet on the floor
This week reconnects sitting and standing to the ground beneath you, building stability and confidence that feels solid rather than wobbly.
Balance
Core without crunches
You learn how to support yourself through posture and breath so staying steady feels doable without gripping, forcing, or overthinking.
Breathe
Oxygen is underrated
We use breath to support movement and posture, helping you work with more ease and focus without turning it into a calming exercise.
Coordinate
Moving without spillover
Simple, controlled movements challenge coordination while teaching the rest of the body to stay organised instead of tense or fidgety.
Strengthen
Support without strain
Strength is built through intelligent, upright movement that supports sitting, standing, and daily life without feeling like a workout.
Uncrumple
Reclaim vertical space
We address the slow collapse of desk work so standing and sitting feel taller, easier, and less compressed without being told to “sit up.”
Focus
Attention through the body
By steadying the body first, this session supports concentration and mental clarity without relying on caffeine or constant stimulation.
Release
Reduce unnecessary holding
Instead of stretching for the sake of it, we improve how you organise yourself so tension around the hips and pelvis can ease naturally.
Integrate
Use it at your desk
Everything you’ve learned is brought directly into real work situations like typing, meetings, and standing conversations.
Sustain
Keep it human
The final session helps you set up simple, realistic habits so movement and comfort stay part of your life without becoming another thing to manage.

How It Feels

Each week builds on the last. The body opens up, focus returns, and stress starts losing its grip. This isn’t about doing more. It’s about feeling better while you do what you already do.

Why Me

Where I Started

I’ve been teaching movement since before wellness became a buzzword, including aerobics, strength, step, HIIT, and conditioning – you name it.

I’ve taught every kind of class imaginable, and the only universal truth I’ve found is this: sitting ruins everything eventually.

I was also a competitive athlete, so I understand what drive does to a body and what it costs when you never stop.

Where I Am Now

These days it’s Pilates, yoga, and art.

Slower maybe, but not softer, it’s still about how people move, think, and hold themselves together when life pulls in every direction.

Why That Matters Here

I also hold an MA in Creative Practice (Distinction), which ties everything back to focus, presence, and emotional awareness.

What I teach in Sit Happens comes from decades of watching how people move, breathe, and burn out.

It’s movement with intelligence. Calm with structure. Strength without the strain.

I know how to get people going, and how to help them finally stop.

Why It Works

Because humans weren’t designed for chairs or inboxes.

Sit Happens brings people back to their bodies through movement, breath, and awareness, in a way that actually lasts. It’s grounded, evidence-based, and emotionally intelligent. The humour keeps it light; the depth makes it stick.

The Intro Session

Before committing to twelve weeks, let your team feel what this work actually does.

The Intro Session is a 2.5-hour hands-on reset, part movement, part breath, part practical education.

People leave calmer, clearer, and usually a little taller.

It helps everyone:

    • feel the difference between tension and support
    • learn simple ways to breathe and focus during the day
    • understand how stress shows up in the body (and how to turn it off)

It also gives your company real feedback on what’s working, so the twelve-week program can be tailored where it matters most.

Intro Sessions are delivered on Tuesdays at 10am, hosted at your workspace. Dates are arranged directly with me after your enquiry to keep things simple and personal.

It’s engaging, restorative, and gives your team a real sense of what twelve weeks can change. Intro Sessions are delivered on Tuesdays at 10am at your workplace.

You’re in.
Thanks for enquiring about Sit Happens.

I reply to all corporate enquiries personally, usually within 2-3 working days.
When I do, I’ll confirm the next available Tuesday 10am Intro Session and sort any details your team needs.

Until then, maybe stretch something other than your patience and breathe once on purpose.

Two and a half hours that remind your team what feeling human actually feels like.
