Why abstract fine art?

Abstract art is a powerful medium transcending traditional forms of expression, allowing for a deeper connection with our emotions and imagination. It’s a form of art that can be interpreted in countless ways, making it uniquely personal and universally relatable. Here’s why abstract art stands out:

  • Personal Connection: abstract art enables you to project your experiences, emotions, and thoughts onto the artwork, creating a personal connection that evolves over time
  • Versatility: it fits seamlessly into any space, complementing various decor styles and colour schemes while adding a touch of sophistication and intrigue
  • Expressiveness: with its dynamic forms and vibrant colours, abstract art evokes emotions and stimulates the mind, making it a perfect conversation starter and focal point in any room

How it works

Creating your custom Intuitive Abstract Art is a collaborative and intuitive process designed to capture your essence and style:

  1. Choose your colours: select a colour scheme that resonates with you. If unsure, I’m here to help you choose the perfect palette based on your favourite colours.
  2. Personal insights: share three words that describe yourself and three words your friends would use to tell you. This will help me infuse your personality (or anyone else’s if it’s a gift) into the artwork.
  3. Photo inspiration: provide at least five photos of yourself (selfies are fine, but no AI-generated images). These images help me connect with your energy and character.
  4. Select the size: choose a 33.1×46.8 inch rolled canvas print (ready to frame) or a 40×55 inch canvas print (ready to hang) with free UK delivery.
  5. My intuitive process: using your information, I’ll create a unique, hand-painted abstract piece that captures your essence and aligns with your vision.

Secure your place on the waiting list

A £200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on the waiting list. You can then pay the remaining amount in 2 instalments; half before your unique Intuitive Abstract art starts and the other half after the work is completed.

It's all about YOU

You'll be asked to send me your colours, moodboard (if you have one) and 3 words you would describe yourself, and 3 words your friends would describe you and at least 5 photos of yourself, so I can have stronger intuitive feelings about you via email. To ensure the artworks will pop, we'll need contrasting colours and also please pick the 2 main colours you want to emphasize.

Once we have the colours

Once you pick your colours and I get the energy from you before I intuitively paint the best representation of you (and perhaps buy your colours), you'll receive the invoice for the first instalment. Once the invoice is taken care of, I start painting.

Typically, it takes me between 2 to 14 weeks to complete the piece, as it depends on my schedule. However, if you need them sooner, please let me know. I do require a minimum of 2 weeks notice for rush orders for extra fee. Please don't forget that the time of drying paint, as I only can digitalise it after it's completely dry. I need to digitalise it to be able to order the canvas print from it. Also, I might need to order materials based on your specific colour palette, and you might need to factor that time in too.

Progress updates

I don't offer mid-painting progress photos because I ardently protect my creative process. I trust my process, and it's in my client's best interest for me to give my best foot forward in your painting. Protecting my creative process is the best step forward because I know that's when I create my best works. An author doesn't need to share their rough drafts with readers before publishing the book, or a fashion designer doesn't need to showcase incomplete garments to clients before the final fitting - why should I show an unfinished painting to a client before it's complete?

Finalising approval & delivery

When I've completed your painting, I'll send you an image of the final piece for your approval. Once you are satisfied with the final artwork the remaining balance payment will be due. After receiving the payment, I'll order the custom-made large canvas of the artwork for you. With free UK delivery, you’ll receive either a 33.1×46.8 in rolled canvas print or a 40×55 in canvas print - based on which option you go for. Your commissioned art this way costs less than half of the original’s price with the same size, but it looks and feels just like it.

OK, I have questions...

What is Intuitive Abstract Art?

Intuitive Abstract Art is a personalised commission service where I create custom-made abstract paintings based on your chosen colours and personal insights, infused with my intuitive process. It’s about capturing your essence and creating a piece that resonates deeply with you.

How does the commission process work?

It begins with you selecting a colour scheme and providing personal insights, such as three words that describe yourself and how your friends would describe you. You'll also share at least five photos of yourself. From there, I use my intuitive approach to craft a unique abstract artwork tailored to your preferences and style.

Will I get the original painting?

No. I paint and digitalise the original artwork, and you'll receive a large, environmentally-friendly print from recycled material. This way, I can have the least possible environmental impact and ensure affordable prices.

You can buy original artwork here, or read the next frequently asked question below.

Can I buy the original painting instead of the canvas print?

Yes, you can if you tell me this in advance after you pay the £200 deposit, reply to the purchase confirmation email to let me know.

The original painting is a 36 x 48 inches premium canvas without free UK delivery. I can drop it off if you're local to Nottingham (within 15 miles). If not, I can provide you with a quote for the postage and packaging costs.

The price of the original painting is £6,899 without postage and packaging costs.

Why costs the original painting so much more than the canvas print?

When I paint for prints, I paint on a significantly smaller-sized material. That means the canvas/canvas pad or special paper I paint on costs less and uses less paint. It is also much quicker to paint in smaller sizes; hence, I can spare material and time and pass on the savings to you.

Once I paint your commissioned piece, I scan, professionally digitalise it, and send it to an art specialist printer company to print your canvas and deliver it to you. This is why you can save so much money and still get a unique commissioned piece for yourself that feels and looks just like the original. You basically pay about 20% of the original's price.

What sizes are available for the canvas prints?

You can choose between a 33.1×46.8 inch rolled canvas print (ready to frame) or a 40×55 inch canvas print (ready to hang), both of which include free UK delivery.

How long does it take to complete a commissioned piece?

Typically, the process takes 2 to 14 weeks, depending on my schedule and the complexity of the artwork. Rush orders with a minimum of 2 weeks' notice are available for an additional fee.

Can I see photos of work in progress during the creation process?

I don't provide mid-painting progress photos to maintain the integrity of my creative process. However, once the artwork is completed, I'll share a final image for you to approve before proceeding with the canvas print.

What makes Intuitive Abstract Art different from other commissioned art services?

It stands out due to its personalised nature, eco-friendly practices using recycled materials, and affordability without compromising quality. Each piece is crafted to reflect your individuality and values, ensuring a meaningful connection with the artwork.

How much does a commissioned piece cost?

The 33.1×46.8 inch rolled canvas print is priced at £1,500, and the 40×55 inch canvas print is priced at £1,700, both including free UK delivery.

Is there a payment plan available?

To secure your commission, a £200 non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance is payable in two instalments: half before the artwork is created and the remaining half upon completion and approval of the final piece.

Who is Intuitive Abstract Art suitable for?

It's perfect for art enthusiasts looking to add a unique piece to their collection, gift givers seeking a personalised present, interior designers needing a standout centrepiece, homeowners wanting to enhance their space with calming abstract art, and business owners aiming to elevate their commercial environment.

Who might find Intuitive Abstract Art less suitable?

Due to the bespoke nature of the artworks, this service may not be suitable for those preferring minimalist or traditional art styles, individuals who need help with colour and style decisions, budget-conscious buyers seeking mass-produced art, or clients expecting immediate delivery.

Can I request specific themes or motifs in my commissioned artwork?

While the focus is on creating abstract art that reflects your personality and chosen colours, I can incorporate general themes or motifs that resonate with you. However, the artwork will primarily be intuitive and abstract in nature.

Do you ship internationally, or is free delivery limited to the UK?

Currently, free delivery is limited to the UK for the 33.1×46.8 inch rolled canvas print and the 40×55 inch canvas print. At the moment, I don't offer international shipping.

What materials do you use to create the artwork?

I use high-quality materials, including eco-friendly, recycled canvas for printing and various mediums, such as acrylics and watercolours for painting. These materials ensure both aesthetic appeal and environmental responsibility.

Can I request modifications or adjustments to the final artwork?

Once I present the final image of your commissioned artwork for approval, you can request minor adjustments such as colour tweaks or subtle changes to better align with your vision. However, significant alterations may not be possible due to the intuitive nature of the process.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with the final artwork?

Client satisfaction is paramount. If you are not fully satisfied with the final artwork presented for approval, we can discuss potential adjustments within reason. However, please note that the £200 non-refundable deposit and the first instalment secure your place on the waiting list and cover the initial costs associated with the commission process.

Can I see examples of your previous commissioned artworks?

Yes, I have a portfolio showcasing past commissioned pieces that demonstrate my style and approach. Viewing these examples can help you understand the range and quality of work I create. You can see them on this page, just scroll up, or go to my art shop.

Is framing included with the rolled canvas print option?

Framing is not included with the 33.1×46.8 inch rolled canvas print. This option allows you the flexibility to choose a frame that best suits your decor preferences. The 40×55 inch canvas print, however, comes ready to hang.

Can I commission multiple artworks for different spaces or occasions?

Absolutely! Whether you need several pieces for other home rooms, gifts for loved ones, or artwork for various commercial spaces, I can accommodate multiple commissions. Each piece will be individually crafted to meet your specific requirements and preferences.

What happens after I pay the deposit to secure my commission?

After spending the £200 non-refundable deposit, your place on the waiting list is secured. You'll then receive a confirmation and can expect further communication regarding the start date of your artwork creation. The remaining balance will be due in two instalments: half before the artwork creation begins and the other half upon completion and approval of the final piece.

Can I request a digital mockup or preview of the artwork before it's painted?

Due to the intuitive nature of the process, I do not provide digital mockups or previews of the artwork before it is painted. However, I will share the final image of the completed artwork for your approval before proceeding with the canvas print.

Do you offer consultation sessions to discuss my vision and preferences?

Yes, I provide consultation sessions via email to discuss your colour preferences, personal insights, and any specific requests you may have for the commissioned artwork. These sessions help ensure the final piece aligns perfectly with your expectations and vision.
